Detailed Engineering

Complete development of the engineering required for the construction and commissioning of industrial facilities, transforming the base design into precise, executable technical documentation aligned with client requirements and applicable standards and regulations.

What it is

Construction-Ready Project Definition

Detailed Engineering is the final phase of engineering development, transforming the technical design defined during previous phases (Basic Engineering or FEED) into a fully developed solution ready for construction and execution. During this stage, all drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documents required to build, install and commission the facility are produced, ensuring accurate, safe and efficient project execution. The objective is to eliminate technical uncertainties, optimize constructability and ensure compliance with project requirements related to quality, safety, cost and schedule.

Multidisciplinary Engineering Development

Comprehensive engineering development across all disciplines, including process, mechanical, piping, stress analysis, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, ensuring full technical integration of the project.

Production of Engineering Drawings and Construction Documentation

Development of process diagrams, interconnection drawings, plot plans, equipment layouts, piping isometrics and construction details required for project execution.

Equipment Design and Specification

Technical definition of equipment such as pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, silos, flare systems and other industrial equipment, including calculations and datasheets.

Technical Calculations and Specialized Analyses

Execution of structural calculations, piping stress and flexibility analyses (including high-temperature and cryogenic systems), as well as other studies necessary to ensure facility integrity.

Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineering

Development of electrical systems, substations, control networks, instrumentation, telecommunications and protection systems, including fire protection systems.

Regulatory Compliance and Industrial Safety

Application of applicable codes and standards, including ATEX studies, risk assessments, noise analyses, insulation specifications and safety documentation required for construction and operation.

Material Definition and Construction Planning

Preparation of material lists, thermal insulation specifications, spare parts requirements and storage criteria, including modularization strategies to optimize construction activities.

Pre-Construction Phase

Phase 04

Ensures uncertainty-free execution through complete technical definition, guaranteeing quality, safety and compliance throughout construction.

When it applies

Pre-Construction Phase

Detailed Engineering is performed after the completion of Conceptual Engineering, Basic Engineering or FEED, when the project must be fully defined for execution, ensuring that there are no ambiguities during construction.

  • New industrial facilities
  • Plant revamping projects
  • Facility expansions and modifications
  • EPC and EPCM projects
  • Complex facilities with high technical integration
  • Projects with demanding safety and regulatory requirements
  • Projects requiring construction and cost optimization
